This is the ode of the Athlete; working hard in order to be able to work harder. What a psychotic concept. Regardless of the sport, this holds true. In training, we find ourselves at constant crossroads where we want to give up, want to give in. Why? Because we know that the hardest work lies ahead of us, not behind us. As we increase our capacity to work more efficiently, move better, recover better, we only pave the path towards becoming even more efficient, and moving flawlessly. The hard work never ends, our perception of it may change, but the workload always increases.
